BELVEDERE is the latest creation by designers Ludovica Serafini and Roberto Palomba for Kartell. The chair's name refers to the timeless elegance of Vienna's Belvedere Palace – one of the most important art museums and a symbol of Austrian tradition and culture.
The design was born from a combination of inspiration from classic Viennese chairs and Kartell's innovative research into modern materials and technological solutions. The characteristic Viennese cane weaving has been combined with a frame made of recycled plastic, creating a light, durable, and modern piece of furniture.
Although natural cane weaving and advanced plastic may seem like contrasting materials, in the BELVEDERE project they create a harmonious dialogue. The result is an original stylistic combination and an ideal balance between craftsmanship and technology, tradition and the future.
