The new collection of upholstered furniture, AALAND, designed by Patricia Urquiola, draws inspiration from images of archipelagos – groups of neighboring islands that form a cohesive whole in a fluid space. This unique concept is evident in every element of the collection: soft, organic shapes of the seats combine and intermingle, creating “small islands” that generate new spaces for comfort and encounters.
AALAND breaks the classic rules of upholstery, adopting free forms, unexpected and multifunctional shapes, going beyond traditional seating styles. The collection offers numerous smaller seats that together create a landscape full of possibilities for shared relaxation and integration. Sofas, armchairs, and large and small poufs are presented as miniature islands that connect and complement each other in an organic language of forms. No element stands alone – all form a cohesive whole.
The upholstered elements, designed in compact sizes, offer flexibility and ease of rearrangement and arrangement according to needs. The collection is complemented by AALAND rugs in three sizes, distinguished by a unique, graphic motif. The motif depicts two rounded, organic forms with different infills, placed close together and connected by a graphic element resembling stitching, creating a striking visual accent and enriching the spatial experience.
